Live-out, Full Time Nanny (CanadianNanny.ca) - Vancouver, British Columbia (BC)
(Child Care) I will be going back to work in Sept/Oct and am seeking a caregiver for our 3 1/2 year old son at our home in Kitsilano. Regular hours will be 7:30-6:00 Mon-Thurs, with occasional early or late starts. Fridays may also be needed occasionally as my job evolves, so are negotiable (I have other help options). While I prefer 4-5 full days I may be able to bridge the gap with some of my other caregiver options if there is one day you cannot work. About us and our son: Our son is a friendly, happy, energetic tyke that loves to laugh, talk, play and learn. He loves going to the park, riding his scooter and bike, jumping in puddles, as well as playing make-believe, puzzles, arts and crafts indoors. He is used to a lot of 1:1 attention from adults, and still developing his same-age friendships. We are a driven, educated couple who believe that play is a wonderful way to learn, and value physical activity and immersion in nature. About you: My hope is that you will keep Kieran laughing, smiling, and learning, as well as enabling interaction with other kids. We are seeking someone who is responsible, reliable, caring, creative, energetic, and outgoing. You should enjoy active outings, have a big \'bag of tricks\' for indoor activities, and share our fun attitude towards education. Since part of the job is helping out the household, and there will be ample break time (preschool and nap time), you should have a roll-up-your-sleeves and help attitude. We can work something out if you are a student and want to use some of the time for studying instead of helping. The average day would be: Play at home and get ready for preschool; travel to and from preschool (bus or car); lunch and more play (home or park); naptime at home; play after naptime (home or park) until I get home from work. Ensure the house is tidy at the end of the day. During nap time (currently 2 hours), I would like some help around the house with laundry, tidying, maybe some food prep. I may also ask for help with local errands (e.g. milk, produce) as needed as we are in a very walkable neighbourhood. Experience/Qualifications: Significant experience with toddlers is required as well as very strong references. I have learned a lot from past nannies and hope to learn from you too! Excellent English language is required as we want to build on our son\'s articulate start, and he requires sophisticated answers to endless \'why\'s. Having a car and being able to drive would be helpful (to fit in more activities!) but not required. Language English is the primary language in our home, but our son understands some Spanish and we would like to maintain this if possible (but open to all candidates). We are open to introducing French. We said goodbye to a wonderful Spanish speaking nanny when we moved here :( -- 1 kid(s) -- Twins: No
